Project: CBC/Radio-Canada 75 Anniversary/Culture Days “Open House”
The Intern will be expected to work with CBC-Radio Canada internal and external stakeholders
to recommend, coordinate and execute plans for the Corporation’s upcoming 75th Anniversary.
Internships Goals: Generally: To implement and execute a variety of communications
strategies, projects and initiative in support of CBC/Radio-Canada’s 75 Anniversary.
Specifically: Working with Radio-Canada, develop activities with supporting communications
plan for Open House activities in Quebec City and Montreal to generate awareness of CBC-
Radio Canada’s 75th Anniversary during Culture Days 2011.
Internship Application Process: Letter of intent plus CV from the student to describe why they
wish to secure the position and how they will benefit from the experience. Letter of endorsement
from Concordia University Faculty Member.
♣ Third Year Journalism or Communications student at the time of the Internship.
♣ 120 hours at 12 to 15 hours per week for ten to twelve weeks in the CBC Montreal
Communications (June – mid-August).
♣ Curious, creative and critical thinker
♣ Passionate about broadcasting
♣ Knowledge of web and social media marketing an asset
♣ Strong written and verbal communications
♣ Excellent computer skills
Internship Tasks: Under the supervision of the Manager of Communications and Partnerships,
the Intern will:
Consult with CBC programmers, community stakeholders and Radio-Canada colleagues
on CBC activities for Culture Days Open House.
Create and develop promotional concepts and approaches for CBC 75 Anniversary/Open
Inform staff about activities related to 75 Anniversary and Culture Days.
Ensure appropriate distribution of communications material related to CBC 75
Developing community engagement strategies and plans
